Emily is 4 Years 11 Months Old!

Our sweet Emily is growing like crazy.  Here's the monthly update!

- She has successfully made the transition to the oldest kids' class at her school.  It is so precious to see the hard work she does every day- they practice letters and numbers (handwriting skills) and she will come home and tell me all about how carefully she made her letters, etc.  She is also very proud of herself for always getting to go to the treasure box for good behavior...she's not had a day yet where she didn't get to go!

- She is drawing some amazing pictures these days!

(This one was "a girl and her mommy and it's her birthday and that's her cake and it looks like a wedding cake and they have a rainbow tablecloth.")

- She plays cooperatively with Audrey A LOT now.  Makes me think back to when we were first pregnant with Audrey and I felt like I was ruining Emmy's life...now I can see that Audrey was probably the best thing we ever did for Emily- a constant playmate and one day, probably a best friend.  My sweet girls.

- She is very deliberate in her requests lately.  Like, she'll ask me in the morning before school, "Can you pick me up early today? If you can't, I would like Grandaddy to come and pick me up when we get up from nap, at 2 o'clock.  Then he can take me to Dairy Queen before we go home!"  It is so funny because we never know what she will come up with for these little "missions".

- She started dance class at a new dance school and is doing well with it.  She is not currently a huge fan of the class- it is ballet only, no jazz or tap, and I think it is really hard for her to focus for an hour and we all know how much she likes being told what to do... ;)  She is very excited for her part in the Nutcracker, though, so that much is good.  I felt strongly that this year she could move up a class and do an actual ballet class- less jumping around and singing and being silly and more following instructions and listening (no wonder she doesn't like it much!!)  She feels proud when she comes out though...so we will keep trucking along. :)

- She had her first real illness since starting preschool here-- she had a bad cold for a few days that really knocked her out.  I have never found her asleep on the couch before this!

- She learned to pump her legs months ago and now I have to watch when they swing together or else the entire swing set sways with them!

- She loves Marshall.  What can I say?  GO HERD!!

Allison's Birthday!

I had a simply incredible day today-- tons of phone calls, texts, emails, facebook messages... so many people wished me a happy birthday and it was very nice.  My closest girlfriends took me to lunch, which was delicious.  Paul got me some beautiful gifts and I learned about the store White House | Black Market...(for better or for worse, right Paul?) ;)  My MIL treated me to a few new items from WHBM and I treated myself to a few as well.  She cooked a delicious meal for all of us and a scrumptious apple pie for dessert.  My babies helped me blow out my candles (this is blurry but I love it anyway!) Hands down, best day I've had in a long, long time.  Thanks for making me feel special!

This one is blurry but I love that my girls helped me blow out my candles!

Audrey- 2 Year Old Checkup

Sweet Audrey girl had her well child visit today.  She is happy and healthy!

Her stats:

weight: 24lbs 6oz
height: 33"
head circ: she was totally uncooperative and they didn't get it. ;)

Dr P thought she looked great and was very excited about Audrey's huge vocabulary.  She said she looks like she is doing well and was very pleased to hear that we've been able to cut back on the thickening gel a little bit (actually, we've cut it in half...getting so close to maybe not needing it at all!)  We had a good visit and then poor baby had to have the flu mist in her nose- she was NOT happy about that at all but we came home and played outside and all was right with the world.  Thanks for checking on our princess! :)

Audrey is 2 Years Old!

Our sweet baby is now 2 years old! We had a great time with her this weekend, celebrating her birthday and enjoying time with family and friends.  I will update about her party soon but for now, here's what life is like with our 2 year old girl!

- she is speaking in full-on sentences now. She will actually tell us things about her day-- like she tells me all about what the other kids in her class do ("Lena take nap on cot." "TyTy take nap on cot." "Yandon has paci." etc).  It's super cute to hear her talk about it and I love how she is always thinking of her classmates- we can be in the middle of the grocery and she will tell me something about them!

- she got a pair of Sketchers Twinkle Toes for her birthday and loves them, loves wearing them, loves watching them light up, etc.

- she insists on being first to let me do her hair in the morning, and she now not only wants, but expects to have a bow in her hair too.  So cute!

- she has decided she does, in fact, like to swing on our swing set (good thing, considering it took me almost 24 hours of work to put it all together!) and is constantly asking to go "souside" to the "siset".  Once we're there she just sits in the swing and wants you to push her. Forever.  And expect a fit if you try to take her inside!

- speaking of fits.............we are officially in our "Terrible Twos".  I hate that term, but in Audrey's case, maybe the "Tantrum-y Twos" is a better descriptor.  She gets so very angry at us for different things and she has hit, kicked, and even bitten us.  A huge change from our sweet baby a few months ago!  Hoping this phase doesn't last too long!

- She refers to herself as "Me" all the time-- like, "That's Me's shirt! That's Me's toy!" etc etc- It's hilarious! Maybe our favorite is when she says to us, "Me's MEAN!!!" (she will say this after she hits or hurts someone and we correct her... it's a little scary but hysterical all at once!)

- she is seemingly addicted to her paci.  She wants it all day, every day, and cries non-stop if we take it away.  I don't know how much longer we can go on like this- it's not healthy to have it as much as she wants it.

- she and Emily have been performing nightly "dinner shows" for us on the patio (seriously, where do they come up with this stuff?? Between the song lyrics and the dance moves, it is pretty entertaining!

- she adores Charlie and always wants to check on him, love him, hold him, etc.

That's it for now- thanks for checking on our sweet girl!! :)
