Emily is 5 Years 11 Months old!

Emily is having a great time adjusting to school and our new schedule.  Here's a glimpse into this month:

-We put sponge rollers in her hair one morning-- so crazy to see her with curls!

- Sweet girls before school one day.

- Daddy came to school to talk about his job! Emily was SO very excited and wanted to show him off...it was totally precious!

- She saw someone in the mall wearing WVU clothes.  What can I say? She's a Herd fan for sure!

- She picked out her Halloween costume- Glinda the Good Witch from The Wizard of Oz.  She's pretty fabulous!

- She started piano lessons after school.

- She got to bring home Cuddles, the class pet (a stuffed animal elephant).  She had so much fun including him in her afternoon activities!

- She went to her first football game and showed her school spirit, hung out with friends, and bought way too much candy at the concession stand. ;)

That's all.  Can't believe we're ONE MONTH from turning SIX!!

1st Day of School!

Both girls had their first days of school today- they were so excited! It's hard for me to believe that Emily is in "real" school now and Audrey is in the 3 year old class.  My little babies are growing up!

Audrey is 2 years 11 months old!

Audrey is getting so much bigger and smarter every day- we love her so much! Here's little snippets into what life is like with her right now:

- She is obsessed with the hot tub- wants to swim every minute of every day. :)

- Also, she is in love with swimming, period! Here are both girls over at Paul's parents' house...swimming yet again!

-Summer is proving to be very tiring. ;)

 - She's hung out with Mommy a lot....such a cutie!

- She likes to dress herself- this is one of her ensembles to go outside and play....in August.  I think the fleece jacket really sets off the look!

 - Our very good friends from church, Jeremy and Sara, moved in down the street from us, along with their sweet kiddos.  Our girls are THRILLED to have fun neighbors and like hanging out with them so much!  Here they are at brunch, after church one Sunday.  Fun!

- She LOOOOOVES to read- here's her favorite story (and quite possibly my favorite video of her ever!)

She is so precious and we are enjoying the summer so much- thanks for checking in!

Emily is 5 Years 9 Months Old!

I cannot believe Emily is almost ready to start kindergarten!  SOMEBODY SLOW DOWN THE CLOCK!!!!!  We are having a great summer- here's what she's been up to this month:

- She joined a bunch of her preschool friends and went to see a movie.  This is the first summer we've seen almost every children's movie- but she and Audrey have seen Despicable Me 2 (Emily saw it twice), Turbo, Monsters University.... we've spent a lot of time at the theaters this year!

- Her sweet friend Braelyn came and stayed the night with us.  The sweet girls were supposed to go to the fair but it had rained so much the fairgrounds were a muddy mess- so we opted for painting pottery and ice cream instead.

- They were "asleep" here-- so convincing, right?!

- After several weeks of lots of late nights, I found her one afternoon like this-- sound asleep on the couch!  She hasn't taken a nap in literally YEARS.

- We did finally make it to the fair toward the end of the week.  She had a blast and we spent time with some close friends- the kiddos were thrilled!

- She got to wear makeup to school one day:

- She learned to tie her shoes!

- More playdates with more friends- lots of dressing up!

- Eating nutella sandwiches:

- Lots of swimming (and crazy wild posing!)

- She too enjoyed our 4th of July celebration with our neighbors- such a blast!

-We went to Cooper's 4th birthday party and Emily got to see Mickey Mouse!

There you have it.  So hard to believe that this time next month, she will be a KINDERGARTENER and will have been in school a week already!!!!
