Emily is 5 Years 5 Months Old!

Soooo much is happening around here! We are crazy busy- I will let the photos speak for themselves.

We've finally, FINALLY gotten to play outside.  It's been nice out but still pretty chilly- I wonder if spring is ever coming our way?

Emily has been helping Audrey learn to pedal her tricycle.  It is really precious listening to her encourage her little sister!

Lots of swinging, even if we're bundled up!
And lots, I mean LOTS of posing for photos.  Emily is suddenly very fond of modeling for me (again- she runs hot and cold on this, lol!) These were all taken the same day but I love how expressive she is.  She kept saying, "Now take one of me here!  Now let me do this! Now go over here and do it from here!"  So funny.

She has even tried out some new things for me (I'm currently taking a class that is keeping me super busy. Looking forward to the growth that will likely come of it!)

She joined me for lunch at Bob Evans one day- I love our special days. :)

Audrey is 2.5!

We are thrilled to celebrate Audrey's half-birthday today (ok, so we didn't actually celebrate it today, because around here, if you merely mention the word "happy" and "birthday" in the same sentence, well...you just better be able to deliver up a party, cake, gifts, friends, etc...) but I was excited for her all the same. :) Here's what life is like with our little 2.5 year old!

- She is crazy smart.  I know, all parents think this but it is actually true in our house. ;) She knows all her colors, counts (with correspondence) to 7, and can name tons of body parts.  It's crazy how quickly she catches on to things (reminds me a lot of someone else we know....)

- She loves to sing.  Right now her favorites are "Twinkle Star", Jesus Loves Me, I Love You (A Bushel and a Peck), The Barney "I Love You" song, I Love You So Much, and a few others.  It is precious to hear her sing!

- She loves her friends at school so much and is eager to go (most days).  I love that her teachers will text me photos of her during the day- warms my heart to see her having fun. :)

(As you can see, Emily does not appreciate wearing a turtleneck.)

- She had a great time at Emily's Vday party- this is probably my favorite photo, of her getting her hair fixed by another mom who helped me that evening.  I have no idea why she is not wearing clothes.

- They both had a great time at Disney On Ice in Charleston- they were absolutely precious in their clothing choices!

-For Dr Seuss' birthday I again dressed up and read to their preschool.  I so appreciate that they let me come in and do silly things like this- I really miss teaching (some days) so it's nice to get to pretend to be a teacher every now and again.

-She played model for me recently when I was working on some lighting techniques.  She was HILARIOUS while I was trying to get it all to come together- the peek a boo shots are probably my favorite!

- We played outside.  WE ARE SO TIRED OF WINTER (Mother Nature, are you hearing this?!?!?) and we're desperate for some warm weather.  Please?!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Emily is 5 Years 4 Months old!

Emily is growing so much, so fast- here's what life is like with her this month.

--She loved having 9 little girls over for a Valentine's party.  I loved having some of the moms stick around to help me with hair, nails, and snacks for said 10 little girls, lol!  They had so much fun and I think this might become a new tradition for Emily. She talked about it for days after!

-She loved going to Disney on Ice and had a great time.  I am always impressed at how good the show is, and this year was no different. I know- if Disney puts their name on it, it's going to be impressive...but they really were over the top this year.  I adored the Tinkerbell/fairies portion of it- if it comes to your town, you should definitely try to attend!

-Emily also loved having me come to read to her school dressed as the Cat in the Hat.  It's funny- in the morning she was FURIOUS that they were having a "mystery reader" and said she didn't like it when other kids' moms came in to read.  Imagine her surprise when I bounded out in my cat outfit! She was thrilled!

-She also really enjoyed helping me work on lighting and trying out my new backdrop.  She is so funny- once she gets it in her mind that she wants to participate, she really goes all out-- see below!  What a ham!

-She also really enjoyed getting to spend a little tiny bit of time outside. This has been the LONGEST WINTER EVER and we are so tired of it...hoping some warm days will soon be upon us.  This is crazy!
