- She moved up at school. Now she's with Ms. G, whom she ADORES! I still miss last year's teacher but I also adore Ms. G and know we will grow to love her just as much. As you can see from these pics, she was pretty excited to go to school this year! She is thrilled to tell people she now attends "PRE Kindergarten"- too precious!
- At school, she's getting to do more things-- the other day they completed a sheet where they had to color, glue on googly eyes, and glue on feathers. I told Em that she had done a really nice job and she looked at me and said, "Mommy-- I got to do my own glue!!" I was so excited for her, because she was thrilled to death with herself. She was so proud!
- She is getting bigger- we are almost completely out of size 4 clothes and into 5's, especially in pants. Her legs go on for days! In shirts she wears a 5 or sometimes a 6, if it seems like a shirt that might shrink. In shoes she's almost a 10 now.
- She has become an extremely picky eater- she can't stand almost anything I cook anymore... no tomatoes, shrimp, pastas except elbow macaroni or spaghetti noodles, barbeque, green vegetables.....they're all on the NO list for now. Sigh....
- She is super excited for Audrey to be at school- I know she is always looking when they're in the hallway to see if she can see her, and on Audrey's school days Emily is SO excited for her to get dressed. She has insisted on matching or coordinating outfits for almost every school day so far!
- She loves playing with Charlie and is pretty helpful with him.
- She is loving all the time she got to spend with Audrey this summer, even though Audrey tends to mess her things up sometimes (and Emily is quick to let me know when SHE didn't make the mess, haha!)
- She's having a lot of outbursts lately.....not sure if it's the transition to a new classroom or if she sees that outbursts seem to help Audrey get what she wants, but I CAN tell you that I am tired of them already!!! One crying child at a time, please!
- She started dance at a new studio this fall and loves it. She's in the pre-ballet class and they are working on basic steps, which she is happy to show me after class. She loves her teacher, Miss Rachel, and I love that Miss Rachel barely speaks above a whisper, which forces all the kids to have to really LISTEN to hear her!! Very smart, Miss Rachel!
- She is VERY into posing for me now. She went through a phase where she was very "over" my camera and basically rolled her eyes or looked away whenever I would try to take her photo...now she is asking or even begging me to photograph her. I love it!
- They had Dress Up Day at school for the kids to watch a "movie premiere" of a Veggie Tales movie. Emily laid her outfit out 5 days in advance, down to the panties, shoes, and crown, so she would "be ready in time". It was so precious! She looked gorgeous in her first experience with mascara and blush! And those "dobbly" (dangly!) earrings were just beautiful!
That's about all the news for now. Hard to believe Audrey will be 2 in 2 weeks and Emily will be FIVE in 2 months!!! Slow down, Life!!
