Emily is 5 Years 9 Months Old!

I cannot believe Emily is almost ready to start kindergarten!  SOMEBODY SLOW DOWN THE CLOCK!!!!!  We are having a great summer- here's what she's been up to this month:

- She joined a bunch of her preschool friends and went to see a movie.  This is the first summer we've seen almost every children's movie- but she and Audrey have seen Despicable Me 2 (Emily saw it twice), Turbo, Monsters University.... we've spent a lot of time at the theaters this year!

- Her sweet friend Braelyn came and stayed the night with us.  The sweet girls were supposed to go to the fair but it had rained so much the fairgrounds were a muddy mess- so we opted for painting pottery and ice cream instead.

- They were "asleep" here-- so convincing, right?!

- After several weeks of lots of late nights, I found her one afternoon like this-- sound asleep on the couch!  She hasn't taken a nap in literally YEARS.

- We did finally make it to the fair toward the end of the week.  She had a blast and we spent time with some close friends- the kiddos were thrilled!

- She got to wear makeup to school one day:

- She learned to tie her shoes!

- More playdates with more friends- lots of dressing up!

- Eating nutella sandwiches:

- Lots of swimming (and crazy wild posing!)

- She too enjoyed our 4th of July celebration with our neighbors- such a blast!

-We went to Cooper's 4th birthday party and Emily got to see Mickey Mouse!

There you have it.  So hard to believe that this time next month, she will be a KINDERGARTENER and will have been in school a week already!!!!

Audrey is 2 Years 10 Months Old!

I simply cannot believe that we are coming up on Audrey's 3rd birthday!  She is having such a great summer.  Here's what life is like with her right now:

-We've been enjoying a bit of nice weather- and new neighbors!  Our good friends from church moved into our neighborhood, providing us with 2 more kiddos to play with.  My girls are thrilled!

-Gymnastics is still in full swing- and paying off, don't you think? ;)

-the girls hosted my Moms Group one Wednesday morning.  It was great but I will be the first to say that 16 children together is PURE CHAOS!!!! ;)

- She broke into my makeup and helped herself! Also, Emily helped do her hair one day- looks marvelous lol!

- She fell asleep in the car (doesn't happen a lot these days)!

 -She's rested.

- And decorated the dog for her nap.

- She turned 7 weeks shy of her 3rd birthday....aka, the same exact age that Emily was the day Audrey was born! (How do I remember this stuff?)

- We hosted lots of kiddos and had fun playing dress up!

-She loves Nutella sandwiches.

- We got to see the cousins, Jack and Will-- such a great time!

- She played in the pool with sister-- a lot!

-On the 4th of July we had a great neighborhood picnic and really enjoyed the yummy food and the parade.  All the kids (and grownups too) who participated looked adorable!!

- And we spent a lot of time looking up at the sky and wondering when and if the rain would ever stop-- it rained for 18 days in a row! Thankful for sunny skies now....

Audrey is 2 Years 10 Months Old!

It's hot, hot, hot here!  Audrey and Emily have been spending lots of time in their little pools- here they are in the pool at Paul's parents'-- a very common activity on these dog days of summer!

We fulfilled a childhood dream of mine this month and purchased a hot tub!  The girls love it but it's been so hot we have to go in first thing in the morning or last thing at night.  They are having a great time and think of it more as a swimming pool than a place to be still and relax. ;)
We enjoyed 2 days at Great Wolf Lodge in Mason, Ohio this month.  Here's a rare sight- both girls asleep at the same time!  That never happens. :) They were absolutely pooped from all the fun!

Cuddling with Mommy early in the morning.

Paul's hospital rents out an amusement park every year for their annual picnic-- this is Audrey on her first ride EVER!  She wasn't too thrilled but warmed up to it eventually.  She's growing up!

After church brunch at a yummy pizza place with our neighbors and friends.  Crazy kids!!!  Look at mine- so rotten!

This video is precious-- she's reading our current favorite book, 15 Animals by Sandra Boynton.  So fun!
