Audrey is 20 Months Old!

I absolutely can't believe that sweet Audrey is now 20 months old.  This is SUCH a fun time to be her parent- she is an absolute joy to be around and keeps us laughing all day, every day.  Here's what life is like right now:

- She is scheduled for an esophageal endoscopy (a "scope") on May 18 to see what the problem is with her swallowing.  She still aspirates when she drinks a thin liquid (as in, any liquid that we haven't thickened using her special gel).  I am NERVOUS about this procedure but am trying to understand that we need answers and a game plan, and this is the next step in getting those 2 things.  Hard for me not to worry though. :(
 

 

We're having a lot of tantrums now.  She is doing the whole, go-limp-and-then-go-rigid-and-then-back-to-limp trick, and also lies flat on the floor when she doesn't get her way.  Exhibit A (she wanted to go outside but didn't want to wear the shoes).

 

-She is curious about everything and makes messes all over the house.

She LOVES to play outside and is always exploring. This would be fine except that she knows NO boundaries and will just wander into the street, or up onto a porch, or where ever she thinks she needs to go.  WILD girl!  She makes me nervous!

- She adores Dora, Bubble Guppies, and Barney ("mahney"). 

- She asks me all day if I'm ok- if I cough, sneeze, etc.  It's so cute! She'll say, "You ok?" but it sounds like, "Yohkayeee?" When I tell her I'm OK and ask if SHE'S ok, she says, "I OK!"

- She speaks in mostly 2-4 word sentences now.  She asks for food ("Mommy, NUMS!") and drinks, ("Mommy, want CUP!"), when she wants to go play ("Mommy, go PAAAAAAY??")  It is so precious to see her learning so much!

- She loves to sing and we're working on expanding the song list.

- She can point out hair, head, eyes, nose, mouth, tongue, teeth, ears, arms, toes, legs, bellybutton, belly, feet, and hands on herself and someone else.

- She loves to take care of her baby dolls and will feed them, hold them, bathe them...so cute!

Emily is 4.5 years old!

NOTE: THIS BLOG IS L-A-T-E and it's all my fault-- I wrote it in advance and then forgot to publish it!! So sorry!

Emily is growing up so fast- I would like a Pause button for life right now, thank you! Here's what life is like right now:

-She got a massive, enormous swing set this month and has spent nearly every day on it since then.  It took over 4 days for us to build it but I think it was well worth it!

 Finding out the swing set is in the back of Grandaddy's truck:

 

Here it is, all put together.  We have every kid on the street visiting us all the time now, ha!

 

-We visited my parents in Parkersburg and Emily got to ride my sister's horse. She loved it!

- We had an Easter egg hunt at my parents' house too.  Emily was the winner, lol!

- She colored all our Easter eggs for us:

- She has played outside all day, every day she can.  I mean, EVERY DAY.  She never wants to come in!

- She is drawing amazingly well. Check out this picture, of Emily riding her scooter while watching a tv screen (her idea, of course, lol!)

- She is very sweet with us- lots of unsolicited "thank yous" and just saying nice things- I have to admit that I LOVE this so much!

Audrey is 19 Months Old!

Audrey is growing like a little weed! She is so happy and carefree and learning SO fast- it's amazing! Here's what life is like with her right now:

- she can say anything you can say. Period! There is no more word list for me to try to keep up with- this baby can TALK! She is quite a repeater and has discussions with me all day long.  It seems like she picks up more words every day!  Some super cute ones this month: -no (cute...FOR NOW!), Aww man (like Swiper on Dora), D-d-d-Dora, GUPPIES (when she wants to watch Bubble Guppies), biiiiite, nums (which is what she calls gummies).

- she loves to be outside. I mean, LOVES it. She throws the craziest tantrums when I try to bring her back inside.

- she is obsessed with sitting on the potty seat over and over and over again...one day she ran around and wouldn't let me put her diaper back on! She tells us when she has peed and will bring us diapers to change her.

- she likes to do bubbles and chalk outside.

- she knows where Paul's parents live and if I don't turn to go up their street she falls apart and yells for them.

- she counts after me- if I say "one", she says, "twoooo, teeeeeee". So cute.

- she understands so much of what we say- she follows directions, helps us, will get things we ask her to pick up- she is very smart.

- she loves to take care of her babies.

- she had a great time at the Character Breakfast a few weeks ago.

- she loves to ride in the Barbie jeep (now, if only Emily loved to drive it!)

- she is in love with Katie- always petting her, playing with her, etc.  Adores that dog.

- she is a little more finicky with eating right now...is turning a lot of things down that she used to enjoy. I'm hoping this doesn't last long.

- she likes to drag everything out of drawers, unroll the toilet paper, throw toys all around...but she's pretty good at helping to clean up, too.

- she likes to go on walks and will walk our whole street (1/3 mile) over and over again.

- she is down to usually 1 nap/day.

- she is in size 5 diapers.

- she wears 18 month clothes and just a few 12m stuff fits now.

- her feet are finally growing- now she's in size baby 2 or baby 3. FINALLY.
